What occurs in a session?

Parent(s) and the child come into the session together.  The objects and toys utilized within the session are dependent on the age and interest of the child.  The focus and process within sessions are dependent on the plan developed with the family for intervention.  A typical session will include direct work with the child, coaching of the parent, consultation regarding the session and ideas/strategies to utilize at home.

How long is a typical speech language therapy session?

A session is 60 minutes with the last 7-10 minutes used to review the session.
